Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 March, the presentation of the book “Uzbekistan. Road to Samarkand” was held at the Maison Assouline bookstore in London.
As part of the event, for the guests of the publishing house, represented by representatives of the business community and the press, the best chefs of Uzbekistan organized a tasting of national dishes of our country.
Among the invited guests were the founder of Assouline Publishing, Prosper Assouline, deputy executive director of the Culture and Arts Development Fund under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayane Umerova, adviser to the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UK Aliyor Tilavov, author of the book, publisher Yaffa Assouline, chairman of Christie’s International Plc European Advisory Council Pedro Girao, Founder of KT Wong Foundation, Lida Davis, Assouline and Giles Deacon Board Member Charles Finch, President of Global Business Development Fourseasons Hotel and Resorts portfolio management and management Bart Carnahan, and Cartier Foundation Managing Director Laurent Feniu. The cultural part of the program was presented by Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sevara Nazarhan.
“Uzbekistan. Road to Samarkand” is a joint project of the Foundation and Assouline Publishing. The book introduces readers to the historical and cultural heritage, architecture and natural landscape of our region. The publication of the book will contribute to the integration of culture and art of Uzbekistan in the world community and the development of the tourism potential of the country.
A special edition will be issued in the amount of 500 copies, and the total circulation of the book is 3,000 books. Already, the book is available on the website and in publisher’s stores in 20 countries.
