Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution "On measures to further develop the system of mandatory one-year preparation of children for primary education."
Starting from the 2019/2020 academic year, a system of mandatory one-year preparation of children for primary education is being introduced in Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent. The main tasks of the Ministry of Preschool Education in this area are determined. In particular, it forms preparatory groups for children not covered by preschool education.
For preparatory groups, the academic year:
- starts on 10 March and ends on 20 August 2020 in the 2019/2020 academic year;
- starts on 2 September and ends on 25 May of the next year from the 2020/2021 academic year.
Pupils of preparatory groups created at kindergartens and beyond, are considered to have completed training for primary education and are exempted from compulsory free one-year education.
Children who have been trained in these institutions are issued a state certificate of one-year training for primary education.
The target indicators of enrollment of children in compulsory preschool education in 2020–2025 are determined. By the academic year 2024/2025, 6-year-olds will be enrolled in preschool education at 100%.
The resolution approved the “Regulation on the organization of activities of groups of mandatory one-year preparation of children for primary education”.
