Practical multilateral discussion on the development of new transit corridors takes place
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The implementation of the issue of creating transport corridors through Afghan territory was discussed in Tashkent, as part of the Second meeting of the multilateral Working Group on the construction of transit railway lines through Afghanistan.
This meeting was held in order to accelerate the implementation of railway construction projects in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in accordance with the "Regulation on the multilateral Working Group on the construction of transit railway lines through Afghanistan." It is expected that during the meetings and expert meetings a number of significant agreements will be reached.
The meeting is attended by representatives of JSC Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, JSC Russian Railways, the Administration of Railways of Afghanistan, and a representative of the Embassy of Pakistan.
The participants in the Working Group discuss issues related to the implementation of paragraphs of the protocol of the first meeting of the multilateral Working Group, which took place on 25–27 March in Tashkent, discusses further consolidated actions of the participants in the Working Group, and considers priority areas for project implementation.
