Practical issues of development of cooperation in the agricultural sector discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 August 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Netherlands met with the residence in Brussels, Dilyor Khakimov, and Remko Schriever, Managing Director of the Netherlands-based consulting company VetEffect.
During the negotiations, a decision was made on the priority of cooperation in the production of meat and dairy products in certain regions of our country, in particular in Ferghana Valley, within the framework of the project “Financial inclusion to support the sustainable development of the livestock sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Of Uzbekistan said.
This project is being implemented as part of an EU grant of €15 million, under which a concessional loan from the French Development Agency in the amount of €150 million has been allocated.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on a number of visits. First of all, the rector of the Namangan State University will visit the Netherlands to discuss the issue of participation of this university in the project.
A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Veterinary Committee of our country is also scheduled to visit the Netherlands to familiarize themselves with the Dutch experience in veterinary support and sanitary and epidemiological control in the field of animal husbandry.
Along with this, a visit to Uzbekistan by a Dutch delegation led by Remko Schriver will be organized to hold substantive meetings with local interested departments.
