Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - After the modernization by Power Machines, two power units (No. 3 and No. 4) of the largest power plant in Central Asia successfully passed warranty tests and confirmed the stated performance indicators for increasing power to 325 MW.

As a result of modernization, both power units are equipped with modern equipment that has improved performance and meets all the requirements of reliability and safety. The service life of the newly supplied turbine units is 40 years, while the capacity of each power unit is increased by 25 MW to 325 MW.

In 2020, as part of the second stage, power units No. 5 and 6 will be modernized. As a result of modernization, the nominal power of the power units will increase from 300 to 325 MW, the specific fuel consumption will decrease from 335-340 gr. up to 320 gr. per kWh

Currently, Power Machines continues to ship equipment manufactured for the modernization of power units No. 5 and No. 6. All operations are carried out in accordance with the schedule and at a high level, which is confirmed by experts of controlling organizations.

The scope of turnkey work of Power Machines PJSC includes the comprehensive modernization of turbine, generator, boiler and auxiliary equipment, the introduction of automatic process control systems, the reconstruction of automatic control systems, a set of construction and installation and installation supervision works. The main equipment of the power units was manufactured by Russian enterprises: Leningrad Metal Plant, Electrosila, TKZ Krasny Kotelshchik, OJSC Kaluga Turbine Plant. The complex of construction and installation works was carried out by the general subcontractor of Power Machines - JV LLC Energoresurs.

According to the EPC contract signed between Power Machines PJSC and Syrdarya TPP JSC in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures for Phased Modernization of Syrdarya TPP Power Units”, the Russian power engineering company is carrying out full-scale modernization of six turnkey power units. The modernization of the station takes place in three stages with an increase in the total capacity of power units from 1800 to 1950 MW.

The implementation of the project will reduce the shortage of electricity in the country, ensure sustainable operation of the energy system of Uzbekistan, and positively affect the economic performance of the region.
