Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 May, a solemn welcoming ceremony was held at the Kuksaroy residence for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A guard of honor was lined up in the square in front of the residence. The head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly greeted the distinguished guest and invited him to the pedestal.
A military band performed the national anthems of the two countries. The leaders walked around the guard of honor and greeted members of the official delegations.
After taking photographs together, negotiations began at the highest level.
The negotiations will begin with a conversation in a narrow format and continue in an expanded format.
It is planned to discuss the current state and prospects for further development of the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Uzbekistan, as well as exchange views on current regional issues.
Following the visit, it is expected that a significant package of bilateral documents will be signed.
