Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 August 2020, with the assistance of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main and the support of the PR company "BZ.COMM" (Germany), a video conference was held with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Development tourism of Ulugbek Azamov and more than 90 representatives of travel companies in Uzbekistan, Germany and Austria.
The event was organized with the aim of developing cooperation in the field of tourism, resuming and increasing the flow of European tourists to the republic, as well as exchanging experience on the restoration of the tourism industry.
The event was also attended by representatives of the largest media outlets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, such as RTL TV company, Die Welt newspapers, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurter Neue Presse, Berliner Morgenpost, Focus magazines, time4you and others.
Foreign partners and the media were provided with detailed information about the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, ancient cities, cultural and historical sites, places of recreation, gastronomy, handicrafts, as well as the conditions created for a comfortable stay of tourists in the republic.
The meeting participants expressed great interest in the measures taken in the republic to support the tourism industry during the pandemic in the form of credit and tax holidays, subsidies and grants, as well as increased measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety for foreign tourists.
In particular, the event participants were presented with a plan for the resumption of international tourism in Uzbekistan on the basis of the new system of sanitary and epidemiological security “Uzbekistan. Safe travel guaranteed”, meeting the highest international standards of tourist safety. As part of the dialogue, a separate panel session was organized between travel companies, where the parties discussed the development of cooperation and new joint projects, exchanged views on the resumption of tourist exchange. As a result of the video conference, the parties agreed to continue this format of dialogue on a regular basis.
