Uzbek Foreign Minister meets with First Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 29 March 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met in Tashkent with the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who is in our country with a private visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as current issues of international and regional policy.
The parties noted the presence of significant potential for the development of Uzbek-Kuwaiti relations, giving them a multi-faceted nature.
Special attention was paid to development priorities of relations in the trade, economic and investment sphere, attraction of funds from the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development and other investors for the implementation of important socio-economic and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to implement social projects in the Aral Sea region.
Mutual interest was also noted in diversification of transport corridors linking Central Asia with the region of the Near and Middle East. In this regard, the relevance of the “Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman” transport corridor was noted.
At the meeting, there was an exchange of views on other issues of the joint agenda.
The Ambassador of Kuwait, Ahmad Khaled Al-Giran, attended the talks.
