Uzbek Interior Ministry adopts measures to ensure security during presidential elections
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan adopted the measures on ensuring security during preparation and holding of the presidential elections, Head of the Department of Ministry of Interior Affairs on protection of human rights and legal support Ilhom Turgunov told Narodnoye slovo.

He said that interior bodies conduct all necessary measures to preserve public order, ensure security of the citizens and guests of Uzbekistan during election campaign.

Ilhom Turgunov said that employees, automobiles, communications and other equipment were allocated to ensure security of election stations.

He added that election stations were equipped with automatic fire alarm systems.

It is also planned to ensure traffic security during election day. Additional road signs were installed at roads, leading to voting stations. About 3,950 parking stations were prepared.

For voters, who are in detention places, are familiarizing themselves with pre-election agitation programmes of the candidates via posters and other agitation materials.

It is worth to mention that 21.435 million citizens can cast their votes at the presidential elections.
