NGOs actively work on improving legal culture of voters

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan (NANGO) hosted a seminar “Increasing role of NGOs in explaining citizens of Uzbekistan essence and importance of national election system” on 9 November 2016.

Representatives of Central Election Commission, NANGO, NGOs, regional resource centers of NANGO participated in the event.

The seminar was aimed at discussing and developing proposals on further boosting work of NGOs in improving electoral culture and political activity of population.

During the event, the participants discussed the programme of measures on further improving legal culture of voters, approved by the Central Election Comission.

The participants also discussed issues of eliminating of so-called family or group voting. It was noted that it is necessary to boost activities of NGOs in explanation of the electoral legislation to the population.
