Uzbekistan Airways receives first Boeing-787 Dreamliner airplane
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) received the first of two airplanes of Boeing-787 Dreamliner model on 31 August 2016.

The Boeing-787 Dreamliner airplane in the colors of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari today landed at Tashkent International Airport. In the result, the Uzbek airline became new operator of Boeing-787 Dreamliner jets.

A solemn ceremony of meeting of the airplane was held in Tashkent with participation of the officials of the state bodies.

New aircraft will be used for long- and super long-range international flights. The aircraft can carry out flights on route Tashkent-New York without stopovers.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It seats 250 to 330 passengers, depending on the variant.

Boeing states that it is the company’s most fuel-efficient airliner and the world’s first major airliner to use composite materials for most of its construction. According to Boeing, the 787 consumes 20% less fuel than the similarly-sized 767.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Boeing signed a contract on purchase of two airlines of Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner and additional engine.

The cost of the contract is US$246.4 million. Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (FRDU) issued a loan for US$223.2 million to finance the contract.
