Volga-Dnepr to buy IL-76TD-90VD aircrafts
Volga-Dnepr Airlines has signed a firm order with MAK Ilyushin for production and delivery of three IL-76TD-90VD aircrafts.
The aircrafts are scheduled for delivery in 2009. New IL-76TD-90VD’s will be built at Tashkent Aircraft Factory, where three airframes have been already reserved for Volga-Dnepr.
It is assumed that these newly ordered Ilyushin 76’s for Volga-Dnepr will be financed via a scheme similar to the one used to build the second aircraft, i.e. a combination of Volga-Dnepr’s own assets and loan facilities provided by Sberbank of Russia in the beginning of 2007.
A number of Russian banks have already shown their interest to finance the project.
