Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of enhancing the involvement of representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in Japan for the implementation of investment projects in Uzbekistan, a meeting was held with the chairman of Terao Litech Co. Ltd. Shinobu Terao.
The company was founded in 1966 with a capital of 300 thousand dollars, specializes in the implementation of infrastructure projects, in particular the construction of sewerage systems, gas pipelines, solar power plants, treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater. It has overseas experience in Cambodia and Bhutan.
The Japanese side was familiarized with the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, as well as the trade, economic, investment potential of the republic and favorable conditions for doing business in the country.
Terao expressed interest in the implementation of a project for the construction of mobile treatment facilities for the processing of domestic and industrial wastewater in Uzbekistan, in particular a demonstration project in Surkhandarya region. The parties noted that the Japanese side has advanced technologies in this area and, as a specific business model is developed, together with a partner, is considering the possibility of organizing the assembly of cleaning equipment in Uzbekistan.
The Japanese side was informed about the prospects for the implementation of this project in Uzbekistan and expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation.
An agreement was reached on further joint study of the development of the project, in particular, the preparation by the Japanese company of the concept of the project, including on the basis of data received from the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan.
