Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the search for new ways of interaction in the trade, economic and investment areas, as well as in order to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of agreements and agreements reached during the high-level visit to Japan in December 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo is making efforts to intensify ties, despite the observed coronavirus pandemic.

In order to study the issue of holding the next 16th meeting of the Uzbek-Japanese and Japanese-Uzbek Committees (Committees) on economic cooperation, a meeting was held with the head of the Japanese part of the committee secretariat, Mika Wajima, and Hirokazu Saito, senior adviser of the international division of Mitsubishi Corporation.

Taking into account the current circumstances and restrictive measures related to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as to promote the implementation of joint investment projects, the possibilities of holding the next meeting in the format of a video conference were discussed.

For a detailed discussion of all these issues, an agreement was reached to work out the organization of an additional online meeting of the secretariats of the Uzbek-Japanese and Japanese-Uzbek Committees (Committees) on economic cooperation.

In addition, an agreement was reached to work out the holding of the next meeting in Tashkent by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
