Population of Uzbekistan reach 32.43 million people
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the urban population of Uzbekistan reached 16.353.0 million people (50.6% of the total population), the rural population – 15.992 million people (49.4%).
Birth
In January-June 2017, the number of births was 311,900 people and, compared to the corresponding period of 2016 (317,900 people) decreased by 6,000 people, respectively, the birth rate was 19.5 ppm.
The most significant decrease in the birth rate was observed in Tashkent city (from 19.1 ppm to 18.0 ppm), Kashkadarya (from 22.2 ppm to 21.3 ppm), Ferghana (from 19.4 ppm to 18.5 ppm), Khorezm (from 17.5 ppm to 16.6 ppm), Jizzakh (from 22.7 ppm to 21.9 ppm), Namangan (from 20.9 ppm to 20.2 ppm), Bukhara (from 17.8 ppm to 17 ppm), Samarkand (from 21.6 ppm to 21.0 ppm) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (from 19.2 ppm to 18.1 ppm).
Mortality
The number of deaths in January-June 2017 reached 78,800 people and, compared to the corresponding period of 2016 (73,900 people) increased by 4,900 people, respectively, the death rate was 4.9 per mil (in January-June 2016 - 4.7 ppm).
The death rate increased significantly in Andijan (from 5.0 to 5.5 ppm), Jizzakh (from 4.0 to 4.4 ppm), Kashkadarya (from 3.8 to 4.2 ppm), Namangan (from 4.4 To 4.8 ppm), Surkhandarya (from 4.1 to 4.5 ppm), the Ferghana (from 4.7 to 5.0 ppm), Khorezm (from 4.3 to 4.6 ppm) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (from 4.2 to 4.5 ppm).
A decrease in the death rate is observed in Tashkent city (from 6.9 to 6.8 per mille). The lowest death rate was recorded in Kashkadarya (4.2 per mille), Bukhara (4.4 per mille), Jizzakh (4.4 per mille) and Samarkand (4.4 per mille) regions.
In the structure of total mortality, 62.1% died from circulatory system diseases, 8.8% - neoplasms, 5.5% - diseases of the digestive system, 5.4% - accidents, poisoning and trauma, 5.1% - respiratory diseases, 1.7% from infectious and parasitic diseases, 11.4% from other diseases.
Also, preliminary data for January-June 2017 recorded 63 cases of maternal death and the maternal mortality ratio was 20.2 ppm (per 100 thousand live births).
High rates of maternal mortality were recorded in Navoi region - 43.2 (per 100 thousand live births), Kashkadarya region - 30.5, Jizzakh region - 28.2, Tashkent region- 27.7 and Tashkent city - 24.5.
According to preliminary data, in January-June 2017, 3,900 children died before the age of 1 year. The infant mortality rate was 10.9 ppm (in January-June 2016 - 10.2 ppm).
High rates of infant mortality were registered in Tashkent - 18.1 (per 1000 live births), Khorezm region - 15.8, Andijan region - 15.3, Jizzakh region - 14.3, Syrdarya region - 14.0, Namangan region - 13.6 and Karakalpakstan - 14.4.
Out of the total number of children who died before the age of 1 year, 56.2% died of conditions originating in the perinatal period, 23.2% from respiratory diseases, 11.8% from congenital anomalies, 3.0% from infectious and parasitic diseases, 1.3% from accidents, poisonings and injuries, 0.2% from diseases of the digestive system, 4.3% from other diseases.
Marriages and divorces
In January-June 2017, the registrar’s offices registered 96,300 marriages and 15,600 divorces, with 6.0 marriages per 1000 population (5.9 marriages in January-June 2016) and 1 divorce (in January-June 2016 - 0,9 divorce).
Migration
According to preliminary data, in January-June 2017, the number of arrivals in Uzbekistan was 82,500 people and the number of those who left was 91,000. Accordingly, the balance of migration made up minus 8,500 people against minus 12,500 in the corresponding period of 2016.
The most significant negative balance of migration was observed in Tashkent (minus 3,3), Samarkand (minus 2,8), Kashkadarya (minus 1,8), Ferghana (minus 1,4), Bukhara (minus 1,2), Andijan (minus 1.0) regions and Karakalpakstan (minus 2.1). A positive migration balance is observed in Tashkent (plus 7.7).
