Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was presented with a report on the key goals of the socio-economic development of Andijan region for 2025.

It was noted that in the first quarter of this year, as a result of the implementation of investment projects and with the support of commercial banks, 77,000 people were employed.

In the coming year, the region plans to implement 166 investment projects totaling $5.7 billion.

This will create 31,000 new jobs, enable the production of 31 types of products previously not manufactured in the region, and increase export potential by US$1.5 billion. To ensure the smooth operation of enterprises, the connection of an additional 65 megawatts of energy capacity is planned.

Among the priorities is ensuring employment for 305,000 residents of the region by the end of 2025.

The presentation focused on issues related to economic diversification, expanding industrial potential, implementing innovative solutions, and establishing modern production facilities. It is expected that the economic growth rate of Andijan region in 2025 will reach 5.5%.

The President instructed that all planned projects be completed on time, ensuring stable sources of income for the population and organizing an effective system of professional training and retraining for unemployed citizens.
