PhosAgro and the Government of Uzbekistan discuss cooperation prospects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian company PhosAgro Group and the Government of Uzbekistan discussed prospects for cooperation on key issues of meeting the needs of Uzbekistan’s agriculture for high-quality and environmentally friendly phosphorus-containing fertilizers and their effective use.

The Government of Uzbekistan was represented at the meeting by the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic Jamshid Khodjayev and the Chairman of the Board of Uzkhimprom Odil Temirov. On the part of PhosAgro, Sergey Pronin and Andrey Vovk, Deputy Director General of PhosAgro PJSC on sales and marketing, and PhosAgro-Region company, representing the interests of the PhosAgro Group in Russia and the CIS countries, were present at the meeting.

During the negotiations, issues of long-term cooperation between PhosAgro and the agro-industrial complex of Uzbekistan in the field of mineral fertilizers were discussed. In this regard, Sergey Pronin noted that direct deliveries of PhosAgro products to Uzbekistan began less than a year ago and acquired a systemic nature in early 2019.

“During this relatively short period of time, we began to better understand the requirements of end consumers and are ready for the active development of supplies to farmers of Uzbekistan, he stressed, adding that in addition to sales, we advise on the proper use of mineral fertilizers, conducting scientific and educational events on modern technologies the cultivation of cotton, grain crops and vegetables based on integrated mineral nutrition systems,” Pronin added.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the creation of a joint working group for a detailed study of the upcoming cooperation, as well as on organizing a visit in July of the working delegation of the PhosAgro Group to Uzbekistan.
