Pharmacies should now have video surveillance cameras

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President “On strengthening measures to prevent illicit traffic in medicines” was adopted.

in accordance with the resolution, starting from 1 December 2019, the retail sale of medicines included in the list of potent substances is carried out exclusively by social pharmacies, as well as pharmacies that have the appropriate license.

This list must be approved by the Government within a week.

The Resolution established that:

• prescriptions for dispensing medicines included in the list of potent substances are stored in pharmacies for one year;
• it is forbidden to prescribe prescription drugs to a patient without a prescription;
• from 1 January 2020, uninterrupted video recording and storage for a month of video recordings of the sale of medicines and medical devices are a license requirement, and a systematic (more than once in one year) violation of this requirement is the basis for terminating the license in the prescribed manner.
