Perspectives of Uzbek-Chinese relations in agriculture discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16-21 July 2019, a delegation of Uzbekistan led by the chairman of the Council of farms, dekhkan farms and owners of homestead lands Aktam Khaitov visited China.

The delegation met with the heads of the Ministry of Agriculture, Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandun and Gansu Provinces, as well as leading companies and corporations working in the field of agricultural equipment manufacturing. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the PRC, during the talks, special attention was paid to the further development of bilateral relations in the agricultural sector. In particular, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the training of specialists, seed production, as well as on the production of modern greenhouse structures in Uzbekistan for the introduction of drip irrigation technology.

Following the visit, a number of bilateral documents were signed, including a Memorandum of Understanding between Surkhandarya Region and Gansu Province, which envisages expanding investment and economic cooperation, establishing long-term cooperation and sharing experience in the agricultural industry between the parties, and reached agreements on cooperation with China’s leading companies construction of greenhouses and processing of agricultural products.

The parties agreed to organize the visit of the delegation of the Gansu province to Surkhandarya region until the end of this year.
