Peace, Unity, and Spiritual Growth: Uzbek President’s Ramadan Greeting
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of Ramadan Hayit, highlighting the importance of peace, unity, and spiritual development. The head of state expressed hope for the swift cessation of all wars and conflicts worldwide, as well as peaceful and secure lives for all peoples.
“In today’s very complex international environment, maintaining an atmosphere of peace, tranquility, and well-being in families, neighborhoods, and across the country remains a pressing task, alongside protecting young people from destructive ideas alien to our values,” the president said.
He emphasized that this effort relies on veterans, intellectuals, ulema, community activists, and proactive youth.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev recalled that, ahead of Ramadan, 1 trillion soums were allocated to support those in need, including medical assistance, and that more than 30,000 iftar events have been organized for compatriots abroad. “This noble work fully reflects the humanitarian essence of our sacred religion and is a practical outcome of reforms aimed at elevating human honor and dignity,” he stressed.
The president highlighted the progress of the New Uzbekistan, noting that wide-ranging reforms in all spheres contribute to the growth and development of spiritual and educational domains.
Among the achievements, he cited the opening of the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, the completion of the Imam Bukhari memorial complex in Samarkand region, and the ongoing reconstruction of the Imam Maturidi complex.
In the coming days, the International Center for Tolerance and Interfaith Dialogue will begin operations in the capital, which, according to the president, will strengthen Uzbekistan’s standing as a country promoting interethnic and interreligious cooperation, peace, and friendship.
