PDPU holds session to determine tasks for 2014

Members of the party from various regions of Uzbekistan, experts and mass media participated at the meeting.

The session’s goal was to discuss priority tasks of the PDPU based on speech of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “Deepening democratic reforms and forming civil society – foundation of future of Uzbekistan” at the ceremony dedicated to the 21st anniversary of Uzbekistan.

The party said it created working group, which included its members and MPs. The group held meetings in the regions with the voters and explained the meaning of the speech and reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, as well as laws, adopted in the country.

The party said that the population received news on announcement of 2014 as the Year of Healthy Children with great interest and shred their proposals to improve the work of part in carrying out priority social and economic tasks for 2014.

It was noted that the announcement of 2014 as the Year of Healthy Children lays additional responsibility to the party and it will work to solve priority social and economic tasks, which meet long-term interests of its voters.

At the session on 25 December, the party analyzed its operation and considered issues, which worry its voters, implementation of the party programme, etc. They also discussed the raising role of the MPs at the Legislative Chamber and local Councils of people’s deputies, which would improve role of the party in solving key social-economic issues in the country.

It was said that the party should focus on forming priorities of social-economic development of the regions in 2014 and propose issues, raised by the voters at the sessions of the commissions of the local Councils of people’s deputies.

The party also considered issues on introducing changes to its programme based on current stage of reforms in the country.

The session underlined that the party should work hard in 2014 in all directions, and its members should actively participate in solving social-economic development of Uzbekistan.
