Pavilion “Uzbek Yard” opens in Riga

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A grand opening of the Uzbek Yard, which is a pavilion offering a wide range of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to residents and guests of the Latvian capital, was recently held at the Riga Central Market.

The event was attended by representatives of business circles, the public and the media in Latvia.

As noted at the ceremony, in recent years there has been an expansion of trade and economic ties and business contacts between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Successful joint ventures are being created, mutual trade is growing. At the same time, interest in the Uzbek fruit and vegetable products and dried fruits, as well as the traditional cuisine of the Uzbek people, is growing.

It was noted that the opening of the “Uzbek Yard” at the Riga Central Market will further strengthen trade, economic and investment ties, and increase exports of Uzbek products to the Baltic countries.

Director of the Riga Central Market Artis Druvinieks shared that in December 2017 he visited Uzbekistan as part of the delegation of the Riga City Council. During a trip to Tashkent, he conceived the idea to create the “Uzbek Yard” in Riga. He expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek entrepreneurs, in cooperation with whom they managed to open the “Uzbek courtyard”. According to him, this pavilion will allow Rigans to buy fresh and high-quality products from Uzbekistan at an affordable price, and will also become a favorite place for citizens.

It should be noted that, along with fresh fruit and vegetable products, dried fruits and sweets, Uzbek pilaf and other traditional dishes of national cuisine are also offered to visitors in the Uzbek Yard.

The monitors and investment potential of our country are demonstrated on monitors installed in the pavilion.

During the opening ceremony of the Uzbek pavilion, the guests also had the opportunity to enjoy Uzbek classical music performed by the Ustazod ensemble and to taste the dishes of our national cuisine, which are loved in Europe.
