Passenger Train Collides with Truck at Railway Crossing in Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A traffic accident involving a passenger train and a truck occurred at the Kungrad regional railway junction in Karakalpakstan.

According to Uzbekiston Temir Yo‘llari, on 6 October 2025 at 15:31, at the 531st kilometer, 8th picket of the section between Turtkul and Ellikkala stations, passenger train No. 128 on the Kungrad–Andijan route collided with a KamAZ truck.

Preliminary reports indicate that the truck driver ignored warning signals at an unprotected railway crossing and drove onto the tracks, causing the collision.

The truck driver was hospitalized. At the time of the incident, the train carried 216 passengers, none of whom were injured.

Due to damage sustained by the locomotive, a reserve O‘zTE16M2 locomotive No. 025 was dispatched at 16:15 to continue the train’s journey.

Representatives of the railway company and law enforcement officials arrived at the scene. An investigation into the incident is underway.
