Passenger Traffic at Uzbekistan’s Airports: Key Routes in 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, passengers at Uzbekistan’s airports actively used both domestic and international flights.
Several routes saw growth in passenger traffic, while others experienced changes due to flight redistribution and airline participation.
The most popular domestic route was Tashkent—Urgench—Tashkent, which served 375,000 passengers over the year, an 18 percent increase compared to 2024. The majority of flights on this route were operated by Uzbekistan Airways, along with private carriers Centrum Air and Fly Khiva Group.
The second most frequented domestic route was Tashkent—Nukus—Tashkent, which carried 227,000 passengers in 2025. This represented a 10 percent decline compared to the previous year, linked to the reduction or suspension of flights by certain airlines.
The Tashkent—Bukhara—Tashkent route operated steadily throughout the year, serving 187,000 passengers, with Silk Avia contributing to a modest increase in traffic.
Among international routes, the Tashkent—Moscow—Tashkent line remained the leader, transporting 1,173,652 passengers in 2025.
The second most popular international route was Tashkent—Istanbul—Tashkent, which carried 983,858 passengers, reflecting a 3 percent increase over the year.
The third place went to the Samarkand—Moscow—Samarkand route, serving 586,149 passengers, an 8 percent rise from the previous year.
Other top international destinations included flights from Tashkent to Jeddah, Dubai, Almaty, Seoul, and Saint Petersburg, as well as Samarkand—Istanbul.
The fastest-growing route in 2025 was the tourist line Tashkent—Sharm El-Sheikh—Tashkent, which saw passenger traffic rise by 48 percent to over 210,000 travelers.
Overall, 2025 was marked by steady passenger demand for air travel, expansion of tourist routes, and intensified competition among airlines.
