Passenger Dies in Car Accident in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 January, at around 05:00, a traffic accident occurred on a secondary road along Yangi Uzbekistan Street.

The driver of a Chevrolet Onix, born in 2004, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a GAZ-66 truck parked at the side of the roadway. The truck is owned by a driver born in 1966.

As a result of the accident, a passenger in the car died from injuries sustained in the collision.

The Investigation Department of the Tashkent City Main Directorate of Internal Affairs has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
