Passenger Bus Overturns in Navoiy Region, Two Killed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A road traffic accident involving a passenger bus occurred on 5 January at approximately 07:40 in the Tamdyn district of Navoiy region, the regional police department said.

The accident took place between kilometers 167–168 on highway A-379 “Navoiy — Uchkuduk,” near the Tamdybulok mahalla. According to the authorities, the Zhong Tong bus was carrying 47 passengers.

The driver, Sh. Kh., with 17 years of experience, lost control of the vehicle while traveling along the Zarafshan — Navoiy route.

As a result, the bus veered off the road and overturned.

Two passengers died at the scene, while nine others sustained injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.

Specialists continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident, and assistance is being provided to the injured and their families.
