Partnership against HIV discussed in Tashkent

The meeting was initiated by the Uzbekistan Women’s Committee within the implementation of subproject of the UNDP Programme on fighting HIV, which is financed by Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening partnership of the governmental, public and international organizations for constructive discussion on role and tasks of the civil society in preventing spread of HIV infection and increasing tolerance to people with HIV in Uzbekistan.

The meeting discussed issues of strengthening partnership, role and tasks of the civil society in fighting HIV and raising tolerance to people with HIV, social partnership of people with HIV, etc.

The participants also exchanged opinion on strengthening partnership in realization of the programmes directed at preventing spread of HIV.

The participants adopted a resolution for further implementation by the partners.

The event was attended by over 60 people, representatives of Oliy Majlis, Ministry of Health, National Center for fighting AIDS, NGOs, international organizations and others.
