Parliaments of Central Asia and South Korea Discuss Environmental Policy and Sustainable Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Within the framework of the third meeting of the heads of parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea, a session was held focusing on the role of legislative bodies in ensuring sustainable development and implementing environmental initiatives.
Participants discussed the promotion of environmental policies, coordination of legislative initiatives, and strengthening regional cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
Special attention was given to improving the legal framework, enhancing parliamentary accountability for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and reinforcing the institutional role of legislative bodies in implementing national environmental policies.
Parliamentarians emphasized the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development across the region.
