Parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan visits Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A parliamentary delegation headed by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nigmatlya Yoldoshev visited the Kyrgyz Republic.

Within the framework of the visit, members of the delegation met with Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastanbek Djumabekov.

According to the Senate press service, during the meeting the parties discussed issues of strengthening friendly relations, including inter-parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

It was noted that due to the political will of the heads of state of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, bilateral relations of our countries are growing and developing. The development of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations in all areas is confirmed by the following examples.

In January-July 2018, the trade turnover of the two countries increased by 88% and reached almost US$215.7 million. At present, large-scale work is being carried out to increase it in the short term to US$500 million.

Almost 7,500 young men and girls are enrolled in 90 schools in the Kyrgyz language today in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan pays special attention to the study of the Kyrgyz language and culture, and in Kyrgyzstan - the Uzbek language and literature.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their confidence in the consistent continuation and development of mutually beneficial relations between our countries on the basis of the principles of good-neighborliness.
