Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the sidelines of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, a delegation of Uzbekistan met with parliamentarians of Azerbaijan.

The Chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Oktay Asadov, congratulated Uzbekistan on joining the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, and the parliament of Uzbekistan - on the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS. He praised the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, including the dynamic development of parliamentarism.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which undoubtedly serves as a powerful incentive in strengthening bilateral interstate relations in all areas.

Oktay Asadov invited the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva to pay an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
