Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At a recent session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, lawmakers reviewed article by article, in a second reading, a draft law aimed at protecting the life and health of citizens, safeguarding property, and ensuring public safety.

It was noted that recent months have seen an increase in the illegal circulation and use of pyrotechnic products, which negatively impacts public safety and has led to fires and other emergencies.

The draft law introduces restrictions on the circulation of hazardous types of pyrotechnic products and sets specific conditions for their use at mass events, as well as for industrial and military purposes. At the same time, it does not impose restrictions on low-risk items such as sparklers and tabletop fountains.

The document also strengthens administrative liability for the unlawful use of pyrotechnics.

Adoption of the draft law will enable the establishment of effective state control over the circulation of pyrotechnic products, help prevent their illegal distribution, and ensure the protection of consumer rights.

The bill was passed in the third reading and submitted to the Senate for further consideration.
