“Pakhtakor” to Face “Bukhara” in Uzbekistan Cup Final

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan Cup semifinals delivered dramatic football action for fans. In Bukhara, the local team “Bukhara” achieved a historic victory over “Sogdiana,” reaching the tournament final for the first time in the club’s history.

The hosts started the match energetically, with Dominik Begić opening the scoring in the 16th minute. Twelve minutes later, Frane Ykić doubled Bukhara’s advantage.

Despite dominating the first half, the team faced a tense situation in the second half. In the 72nd minute, Jasur Jaloliddinov narrowed the gap, and in the 90+1 minute, Filip Ivanović leveled the score with a precise header, sending the match into extra time. It was only in the 117th minute that Nodirbek Ahmadjonov delivered a powerful long-range strike, securing a historic win for Bukhara that will be remembered in the club’s history.

In the second semifinal in Tashkent, “Pakhtakor” and “Dinamo” played a tightly contested match. Both regular and extra time ended scoreless, and the winner was decided by a penalty shootout. The “Lions” proved more accurate, winning 4-2 and earning their place in the final.

The Uzbekistan Cup final will take place on 29 October at Bobur Arena in Andijan.

In the decisive match, Bukhara will participate in a final for the first time, while Pakhtakor will compete for another trophy.
