Over 906 Billion Soums Returned to Consumers via Cashback in Eight Months

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The cashback system introduced in Uzbekistan as an additional incentive for shoppers is gradually becoming an important tool in combating the shadow economy and fostering a habit among consumers to request receipts for every purchase.

From January to August 2025, consumers received 906.6 billion soums in cashback for 976,100 registered receipts. In August alone (as of September 26), over 99.8 billion soums were paid out across 121.8 million receipts.

According to the Tax Committee, the largest cashback payouts in August were recorded in Tashkent — 41.8 billion soums; Tashkent Region — 8.2 billion; Ferghana Region — 7.1 billion; Samarkand Region — 6.9 billion; and Namangan Region — 5.2 billion soums.

Under current legislation, cashback is not credited if the entrepreneur has not submitted tax reports, has a debt exceeding one million soums, if the buyer is listed in the registry of suspicious individuals, or if receipt data is incorrect or has not been submitted to the tax authorities’ information systems.

In accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 255, in August, cashback for 35 million receipts totaling more than 38 billion soums was rejected.

Cashback, equal to 1% of the purchase amount, is credited after the 25th of the month following the registration of the online receipt in the Soliq mobile application. Tax reporting and entrepreneur debt information are updated in real time before cashback is confirmed. Consumers can check the status of their payments within the Soliq app.

A monthly limit applies for cashback. Consumers can receive up to 247,200 soums for purchases not exceeding 60 sizes of the base estimated value (24.72 million soums).

Citizens included in the Unified Social Protection Registry are entitled to increased cashback — up to 441,428 soums for purchases up to 4.12 million soums.
