Over 500 kg of Narcotics Seized in Uzbekistan in One Month
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — More than 500 kilograms of narcotics were seized in Uzbekistan over the past month, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Between 15 July and 15 August, as part of the second stage of the “Safe and Healthy Country” campaign, 14,167 investigative and operational measures were carried out. As a result, authorities uncovered 2,599 cases related to drug trafficking, 1,576 involving organized crime, 1,650 linked to corruption, and 4,653 involving other offenses.
During the operations, law enforcement seized 557.5 kilograms of narcotics and 376,500 units of potent pharmaceuticals, as well as identified the cultivation of 10,500 narcotic-containing plants.
In addition, 91 individuals distributing drugs through “dead drops” were detained, with 34.5 kilograms of illegal substances confiscated from them.
At the same time, 1,751 graffiti promoting online drug shops were removed.
