Over 400,000 Trees Digitized in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The capital is continuing the implementation of the “Tree Registry” project, within the framework of which more than 400,000 trees have been entered into the online platform green.tashkent.uz.
The electronic database contains comprehensive information about the city’s greenery, including species, age, condition, and other characteristics. All data undergo additional verification by dendrology specialists, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
The project is being carried out by the International Public Foundation Zamin, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, and the Tashkent city administration. Its key objective is to conduct a full inventory of the city’s trees and create a digital map of urban greenery.
The electronic registry is expected to become an important tool for urban planning, organizing maintenance and new plantings, enabling public oversight of green spaces, and preserving and restoring the city’s natural environment.
Experts note that the project’s implementation will significantly improve the quality of life for residents, enhance the city’s ecological situation, and make the process of greening the capital more transparent and effective.
