Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-September 2018, 38,100 new small enterprises and microfirms (without dekhkan and farm enterprises) were created in Uzbekistan, which is 23.6% more than in the same period of 2017.
The largest number of small enterprises and microfirms were created in the sphere of trade (23.1%), industries (22.4%), construction (12.9%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (11.8%), accommodation services and nutrition (7.6%), transportation and storage (4.0%).
In 2018, in regional terms, the highest indicator of the number of small businesses (per 1000 people, units) was 23.3 units in the city of Tashkent, 18.0 units in Syrdarya region, and 16.7 units in Jizzakh region. In Tashkent region, the figure was 15.3 units, in Navoi region 13.7 units and Kashkadarya region 13.4 units. In Bukhara, Andijan, Khorezm, Ferghana, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Samarkand and Namangan regions, this indicator is marked at the average level, in the range of 10-13 units. At a low level, this indicator was in Surkhandarya region - 9.0 units.
In January-September 2017, the number of small businesses (per 1000 population, units) was 12.4, then in 2018 this figure reached 13.1, which is 1 unit higher than in 2017.
The share of small business in January-September 2018 in industry was 34.2%, in construction 68.8%, in investments 35.5%, in trade 87.0%, in exports - 28.2%, in imports - 57.4% and services - 55.4%.
In January-September 2018, the share of small businesses in GDP was 50.2% (55.2% in January-September 2017). This decrease is explained by the increase in the share of large enterprises in the structure of GDP.
In the regional context, the largest share of small business (business) in the GRP was in Jizzakh (77.2%), Surkhandarya (74.1%), Bukhara (71.1%), Samarkand (70.7%) and Namangan (69, 7%) regions. In Navoi region, this indicator remains low at 32.6% and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 48.3%.
In the regional context, the largest share of small business in industry was in Tashkent (71.6%), Namangan (69.7%) and Jizzakh (60.8%) regions, in construction - in Samarkand (98.3%), Jizzakh (97.0%), Andijan (96.5%) and Syrdarin (95.4%) regions, in the services sector - in Tashkent (74.3%), Samarkand (74.1%), Ferghana (73.5%), Bukhara (73.2%), Surkhandarya (73.1%), Andijan (72.4%) regions.
Small businesses in January-September 2018 produced industrial goods for 29.7 trillion soums (34.2% of the total industrial production), which grew by 14.2% compared to January-September 2017.
The sector mastered investments for 25.24 trillion soums (35.5% of the total volume of investments mastered by the republic), or rose by 29.9% compared to January-September 2017.
Small businesses carried out construction works for 23.15 trillion soums (68.8% of the total volume of construction works). The growth rate made up 10.3% compared to January-September 2017.
The second produced services in the amount of 58.3 trillion soums (55.4% of the total volume of services), or grew by 0.9% compared to January-September 2017.
About 87% of the total retail turnover was formed by the sector, which made up 81.03 trillion soums (an increase of 2.4%). Small businesses exported products (goods and services) for US$2.64 billion (28.2% of total exports), which is US$702.3 million, or 36.2% more than in January-September 2017.
The freight turnover of motor transport grew by 5% in the reporting period (80.1% of the total freight turnover) and passenger turnover - by 3.0% (95.2% of the total passenger turnover);
In the regional context, the largest volume of industrial production falls on Tashkent city (20.36 trillion soums), Tashkent (4.8 trillion soums), Samarkand (4.16 trillion soums) and Andijan (3.45 trillion soums) regions. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1.14 trillion soums) and Surkhandarya region (937.1 billion soums), the volume of industrial production remains low.
In the regional context, the largest volume of retail turnover was recorded in Tashkent city (15.99 trillion soums), Tashkent (8.77 trillion soums), Ferghana (7.36 trillion soums), Samarkand (7.1 trillion soums) and Andijan (6.63 trillion soums).
