According to the Council, some 1,058 summer rehabilitation camps worked in Uzbekistan this year, of which 268 were stationary and 790 day-long camps. It added that 186 new camps started to operate in the country this year. Some 34.3 billion soums were directed to rehabilitate children in these camps.
Within the target programme for 2012-2013, some 19 camps were repaired fully, and 13 camps were reconstructed, while four new camps were constructed.
The council said that 19,000 teachers and sport instructors, 1,135 medical specialists and 1,397 employees of interior affairs bodies were attracted to ensure work of the camps this year. About 1,530 buses served the children.
Over 73,000 children from low-income families, including 3,900 children from Mercy Houses and children with disabilities, received chance to rest for free of charge. Another 4,500 boys and girls from Aral Sea Basin rested at camps of Jizzakh, Samarkand, Tashkent, Kashkadarya regions and Tashkent city.
