Over 293,000 New Student Seats Introduced in Uzbek Schools in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Uzbekistan introduced 293,344 new student seats in general and specialized schools, according to the National Statistics Committee. Of these, 214,087 seats are located in rural areas.

The regions leading in the number of new student seats are Kashkadarya with 36,758, Fergana with 32,472, and Samarkand with 32,390.

Surkhandarya opened 30,357 seats, Andijan 26,376, Namangan 25,739, and Tashkent Region 23,628. In the capital city of Tashkent, 22,566 student seats were added.

The fewest new seats were introduced in Navoiy Region with 7,220 and Syrdarya with 7,010. Other regions include Khorezm with 13,263, Bukhara with 12,900, the Republic of Karakalpakstan with 12,807, and Jizzakh with 9,858.
