Over 26,900 new small business entities created in Uzbekistan in 2015

In January-December 2015, small business entities provided employment to 10.179 million persons (77.9% of total persons employed in the economy), including 7.949 million persons of the individual sector and 2.229 million persons of small enterprises and microfirms.

The sector produced industrial output to the amount of 35.699 trillion soums (38.9% of total industrial production), which rose by 19.8% year-on-year.

The small businesses utilized 14.789 trillion soums of investments (36.3% of total utilized investments). The growth rate made up 18.1% year-on-year.

The sector executed construction works to the amount of 17.01 trillion soums (67.2% of total construction works), which grew by 14.4% in 2014.

The small business entities ensured the growth of freight turnover of motor transport by 8.5% (83.9% of total freight turnover) and passenger turnover by 8.2% (89.9% of total passenger turnover).

The sector formed 87.1% (61.84 trillion soums) of total retail trade turnover (the growth by 16%) and 50.8% (13.881 trillion soums) of total paid services (the growth by 15%).

The small businesses exported products (goods and services) worth US$3.462 billion (26.9% of total exports), imported products (goods and services) to the amount of US$5.525 billion (44.5% of total imports).
