Over 261,000 small enterprises operate in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 December 2018, the number of operating small enterprises and microfirms in Uzbekistan made up 261,100 units. This figure is more than the same period of last year by 13.6%.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the main part of operating small enterprises and microfirms falls on the city of Tashkent – 59,600 units (22.8%), Tashkent region – 25,000 units (9.6%), Ferghana region – 23,100 units (8.8%) and Andijan region – 22,600 units (8.6%).
Of the total number of operating small enterprises and microfirms, 69,900 units (26.8%) operate in trade, 55,800 units (21.4%) in industry, 28,600 units (11.0%) in construction, 23,800 units (9.1%) - agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 19,500 units (7.5%) - accommodation and food services, 13,000 units (5.0%) transportation and storage services, 6,700 units (2.6%) - information and communication, 5,300 units (2.0%) in health care and the provision of social services, as well as 38,300 units (14.6%) in other types.
This shows that the bulk of existing small enterprises and microfirms are in industry and trade. The smallest share of economic activities falls on health care, the provision of social services, as well as information and communication.
According to the results of January-November 2018, the number of newly created subjects of small enterprises and microfirms made up more than 45,300 units, which is 26.4% more than in the same period of last year.
A significant part of total number of newly created small business entities falls on the city of Tashkent (10071 units), Tashkent region (4627 units), Samarkand region (3967 units) and Ferghana region (3516 units). The smallest falls on Syrdarya (1284 units), Khorezm (1853 units) and Navoi (1698 units) regions.
The largest part of enterprises is accounted for trade - 10729 units, industry - 10431 units, construction - 5911 units, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 5256 units. The smallest amount is health care and the provision of social services - 1085 units, information and communication - 1153 units, as well as transportation and storage - 1938 units.
