Over 150 Uzbek Freight Trucks Assisted at Latvia and Belarus Borders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Due to the temporary closure of border crossings in Belarus and Latvia, more than 150 freight vehicles of Uzbek carriers received practical assistance.

To address the situation promptly, task forces were formed including representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Embassies of Uzbekistan in Latvia and Belarus, and the Association of International Road Carriers of Uzbekistan (AIRCUZ).

On-site support was provided from 13–15 November at the Zarasai–Medumi border zone (Lithuania–Latvia) and from 12–15 November at the Polotsk border zone (Belarus). Drivers were issued 229 forms of the relevant permits, ensuring uninterrupted transit of goods through Latvia.

These measures helped minimize delays and maintain the stability of Uzbek freight carriers’ operations amid temporary border restrictions.
