Over 13,600 small businesses registered in Uzbekistan in 1Q

Some 13,646 new small businesses (without dehkans and farms) were registered in Uzbekistan in January-March 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
As of 1 April, number of operating small businesses reached 222,015 units, which rose by 18,193 units compared to the same period of 2016.
Share of small businesses in GDP of Uzbekistan made up 44.9% in the first three months of 2017 (43.1% in January-March 2017), industry – 41.6% (37.3%), services – 58% (57.1%), exports – 28.1% (23.3%) and employment – 77.7% (77.4%).
Small businesses used investments for 3.992 trillion soums in January-March 2017, which made up 41.2% from total volume of used investments of Uzbekistan.
They conducted construction works for 4.844 trillion soums in January-March 2017 (69.9% of total construction works), which grew by 14.9% year-on-year.
