Over 1.16 Million Families in Uzbekistan Received One-Time Financial Assistance of 1.2 Trillion Soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, social support measures in Uzbekistan covered more than 1.16 million needy families, who received one-time financial assistance totaling 1.2 trillion soums, according to the relevant authorities.

In addition, families that exceeded the basic consumption norms for electricity and natural gas were compensated for the difference between their actual usage and the established limits. The base allowances are set at up to 150 kWh per month for electricity and up to 250 m³ of natural gas during the heating season (up to 150 m³ in the non-heating period).

Since May 1, 2025, 562,900 needy families that exceeded these limits received compensation totaling 41.6 billion soums, of which 30.0 billion soum was for electricity and 11.6 billion soums for natural gas. For comparison, during the 2024–2025 heating season, 207,962 families received compensation amounting to 23.3 billion soums.

These measures are aimed at supporting socially vulnerable populations, ensuring access to public utilities, and reducing the financial burden on families with higher-than-normal electricity and gas consumption.
