Over 1 tonne of narcotic drugs destroyed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The law enforcement authorities of Uzbekistan destroyed more than 1 tonne of narcotic drugs seized during the fight against drug trafficking.

This campaign was dedicated to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, which is celebrated on 26 June.

In a blast furnace of one of the enterprises in Tashkent, 7.7 kg of heroin, 195.4 kg of opium, 56.1 kg of hashish, 557.3 kg of marijuana, 130.1 kg of poppy straw (kuknar), 80.9 kg of cannabis, 263 g of synthetic drugs were burned.

A large number of psychotropic drugs in the form of tablets and solutions were also destroyed.

According to the National Information and Analytical Center for Drug Control under the Cabinet of Ministers, more than 1.17 tonnes of drugs were seized from illicit trafficking: heroin - 20.6 kg, opium - 254.7 kg, hashish - 61.4 kg , marijuana - 600.8 kg, kuknar - 227 kg, tramadol - 7.5 kg, and also 165.7 g of new psychoactive substances.
