Oston Urunov Secures Victory for Uzbekistan Over Egypt (Goals)

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national football team defeated Egypt 2-0 in a friendly match of the Al Ain International Cup, held in Dubai, UAE.

The scoring opened in the fourth minute when Oston Urunov received the ball near the touchline, outmaneuvered several Egyptian defenders, and struck a precise shot on goal. In the end of the first half, Urunov completed his brace: after a pass from Otabek Shukurov, he evaded his marker, faced the goalkeeper one-on-one, and skillfully placed the ball into the net.

After the break, Uzbekistan shifted to a more defensive approach but still created several dangerous opportunities near the opponent’s goal.

In another tournament match, Iran defeated Cape Verde 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regular time.

The final of the Al Ain International Cup, scheduled for 17 November, will see Iran face Uzbekistan, while the third-place match will be contested between Cape Verde and Egypt.

Uzbekistan and Iran have previously met in a decisive match in September 2025, when Uzbekistan won 1-0 to claim the CAFA Nations Cup.
