OSCE Supports Enhancement of Digital Feedback Mechanisms Between Parliamentarians and Citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, together with the Center for Retraining Journalists, conducted a two-day training for members of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, focused on using modern digital tools to strengthen interaction between deputies and the public.

The event aimed to improve feedback mechanisms, increase transparency of parliamentary activity, and expand citizen participation in legislative processes. Participants were introduced to practical uses of digital platforms, social media, and open data analysis tools for monitoring public opinion.

During the training, OSCE specialists provided recommendations on using new information formats to make parliamentary communication with citizens clearer, more responsive, and oriented toward public needs. Special attention was given to information security and protecting society from the spread of fake news.

Deputies analyzed international best practices and participated in practical exercises aimed at developing effective approaches to counter destructive content.

As a result of the training, parliamentarians acquired new online communication skills that will help expand public access to information about parliamentary activities and create additional opportunities for discussing initiatives and proposals from citizens.

The event marked another step in developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE in enhancing the openness of state institutions and strengthening public trust.
