Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, in order to support the Main Directorate in preventing the entry of coronavirus infection, provided humanitarian assistance to penitentiary institutions operating in our country.

Humanitarian aid consists of 15 types of protective equipment (face masks, medical gloves, protective suits), as well as washing and personal hygiene products, antibacterial agents, for a total of 180 million soums.

These funds were delivered to juvenile convicts in an educational colony, to a special contingent that is undergoing a sentence in a women's colony, as well as to employees serving in these institutions.

The leadership of the GUIN of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, John McGregori, for the humanitarian assistance rendered in preventing the “COVID-19” infection in penitentiary institutions.
