Opportunities of transport and logistics services of “KTZ Express” are presented in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 8 August 2019, Tashkent hosted the presentation of the updated line of services of KTZ Express as part of a business forum on new opportunities and prospects for the development of container service on trans Kazakhstan routes.

The event was organized by the representatives of the logistics unit of the group of companies of  Kazakhstan Temir Joly. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, more than a hundred interested trade and transport technology companies in Uzbekistan.

During the presentation, General Director of KTZ Express Dmitry Abdullaev noted that the company "is actively working to expand the service, increase the level of customer focus, and provide transportation at the lowest possible cost, using the capabilities of its infrastructure and international transport corridors." The updated business model of KTZ Express includes such areas as industrial logistics, logistics outsourcing, warehouse logistics, transportation of oversized cargo, LCL transportation and organization of container transportation in the cold train mode.

Much attention is paid to the organization of regular container transportation using a feeder line in the Caspian, key logistics projects and the main areas of the company’s activities, including operating a fleet of refrigerated containers. The company has 45-foot refrigerated containers with a carrying capacity of up to 27 tons, with automatic mode to maintain the internal temperature from +20 degrees to -20 degrees and the outside from +50 to -50 degrees. The elongated base of the container allows not only to increase the internal volume to 80 cubic meters, but also to install a fuel tank of 800 liters. Thanks to the diesel generator set, refrigeration equipment can operate autonomously for more than 20 days. This type of transportation allows for the regular running of container trains. Goods sensitive to temperature changes are delivered year-round.

Currently, container service has been established on routes between China and Europe, Central Asia, and Russia; the issue of developing transport in refrigerated containers in the cold train mode from Uzbekistan to Russia and Kazakhstan is being actively studied. When the service reaches its working capacity, it is planned to carry out weekly container shipments on a regular basis. In general, transportation in refrigerated containers helps to increase the volume of cargo transportation that requires compliance with the temperature regime, including vegetables and fruits, frozen and chilled products, medical and pharmaceutical products, and electronics.

The forum participants were also presented with the opportunities of the Trans-Caspian route, as an alternative route for the delivery of Uzbek goods through Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan seaports to the Caspian Sea, to the countries of the Black Sea basin, Turkey and Europe, with the aim of further expanding its geography and increasing cargo flows along this corridor.

The past business forum promotes the development of inter-regional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries in the field of industrial cooperation, logistics services, improving the quality of transport services and realizing the transport potential of Kazakhstan.
