Oppenheimer to Invest US$300 Million in Industrial Development of Andijan Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Andijan Region, led by Governor Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov, signed a US$300 million investment agreement with one of the leading U.S. financial firms, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., in New York.
The negotiations took place during the Uzbek delegation’s visit to the United States, at the company’s headquarters in Manhattan’s financial district on Wall Street. In discussions with Oppenheimer’s Managing Director John Tonnelly, the delegation highlighted key economic reforms initiated by the President of Uzbekistan, as well as the investment potential of Andijan Region.
The parties explored opportunities for implementing large-scale projects in industry, infrastructure, and other strategic sectors of the region. As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to invest US$300 million in the development of Andijan Region.
