Ophthalmologists of Uzbekistan receive a unique laser surgery equipment

Eyes are the most important organ among other senses, an invaluable means of enjoying the beauty of life. Therefore, throughout the world, diseases associated with the eye are considered an urgent medical issue.

The team of the Republican Clinical Ophthalmological Hospital in this direction collaborates with a number of medical research centers. In particular, scientific and practical cooperation has been established with the National Medical Research Center “Eye Microsurgery” of the Russian Federation to introduce the latest achievements of laser surgery in ophthalmology. As part of a collaborative project, a group of qualified specialists from Russia arrived in our country, organized demonstration surgeries and master classes on complex surgical operations using new laser technologies.

“It is worth noting that the use of laser technology in ophthalmology contributes to the achievement of great success in the treatment of a number of eye diseases,” Otabek Ikromov, chief physician of the Republican Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital, said. - In particular, according to the analysis of specialists, thanks to such achievements of science, it is possible to reduce dystrophy of the retina by twenty times. The introduction of such new methods in the medicine of our country broadens the possibilities of providing qualified medical care to the population.

At the beginning of this year, another new device used in ophthalmology was brought by the Republican Clinical Ophthalmology Hospital. With the help of this modern technology, surgical operations have been successfully performed for patients with complications of diabetes mellitus associated with the eyes, in particular, diabetic retinopathy and retinal diseases.
